Trade Associations

The Commercial Collection Agency Association (CCAA) is a triadic organization with over 200 members. Its core membership group, of over one hundred commercial collection agencies, represents the most prestigious commercial collection agencies in the United States. CCAA’s affiliate members are law firms and law list publishers who comprise the remaining elements of the Triadic System, the oldest and most cost-effective world-wide legal forwarding network.

The CCAA was established in 1972 to improve the quality and reputation of the commercial collection industry. It is part of the Commercial Law League of America (CLLA), the oldest creditors' rights organization in the country, founded in 1895.

Membership in the CCAA, whose members are the only collection agencies in the United States certified by the Commercial Law League of America and authorized to display the seal of the Association, is limited to those select agencies in the country who continue to meet CCAA's rigorous criteria.

The International Association of Commercial Collectors, Inc. (IACC) is an international trade association comprised of more than 240 collection specialists and 160 commercial attorneys. With members throughout the U.S. and in 20 international countries, IACC is the largest organization of commercial collection specialists in the world.

To join IACC, applicant agencies must meet a rigorous set of membership standards. The agency must be well established with experienced owners and principals. Applicants must carry a minimum of a $10,000 statutory or blanket client bond and must maintain a separate trust account for all client money.
Before granting membership, IACC checks client references to verify that an agency's professionalism and character are aligned with the IACC code of professional ethics. Once membership in IACC is granted, agencies are expected to maintain a high level of professional standards and to continually strive for even greater excellence in their business operation.

Since 1917, the California Association of Collectors has served and protected the interests of the collection industry. CAC is pledged to promote, stimulate, increase and improve the educational, social, economic, and ethical welfare of the California collection industry and the public which it serves; and to apply the collective knowledge and experience of its members toward maintaining an ethical standard of collection service.
